Thoroughly Tested Technology
More than $2,000,000 of government funds drove the most extensive R&D effort ever in altitude simulation. The project resulted in the most stable, accurate, and realistic altitude simulation without changing pressure. The system reduced costs by more than 90% compared to previous technologies. Perhaps the most significant advantage is the increased safety. ACT’s technology eliminated barotrauma, neurological damage, and decompression sickness in altitude training.
This three-year program allowed our engineers to develop several prototypes for extensive testing and verification, each prototype more refined than the last. ACT worked with input and design advice from NAVAIR’s experts experienced in hypoxic pilot training. This deep understanding and real-world experience were fundamental to the design of the technology.
ACT and NAVAIR spent hundreds of man-hours spent refining the chosen approach after months of trial and error testing of each component.
The system’s crown jewel is ACT’s controller, the only technology to control altitude simulation accurately.
Leading aeronautical institutions and authorities now use this technology to train their aviators. Already hundreds of classes have been given, and thousands of aviators have received this training with no safety issues.
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University incorporated this training in ACT equipment as part of their curriculum and corporate pilot safety classes.
US Civil Aviation Medical Institute uses ACT systems for civilian pilots attending their safety training classes.
The FAA uses ACT equipment for hundreds of pilots who have now had the opportunity to experience hypoxia in a safe environment.
Other flight schools and universities in several countries have employed this state of the art technology for pilot training.
