Effective – Unlike systems without sensors or controllers, ACT’s Altiflo™ system reduces effective altitude by up to 7,000 feet in well sealed rooms.
Quiet – Sound attenuation padding, spring suspensions, and silencing mufflers ensure the quietest operation possible.
Unobtrusive – No equipment clutters living space. ACT sensors and molecular sieves are out of sight. The Altistat display and Controller can be discreetly placed in a closet or prominently displayed to show its color touch screen and high-tech appearance.
Scientific – True altitude simulation requires a barometric pressure sensor, oxygen sensors, and algorithms to calculate the partial pressure of oxygen and display true altitude. To ensure accuracy we use two oxygen sensors.
Computer Controlled – ACT’s Altiflo™ system is programmed for completely automatic operation. It can integrate with your Savant or Crestron home automation system. And you can control it from your smartphone from anywhere in the world.
Reliable – ACT engineers its Altiflo™ systems to remain functional even during maintenance or in the event of a mechanical breakdown. Our multiple independent unit system provides redundancy so the system need never be offline.

Altistat™ – The world’s first hardware and software combination that allows you to control your effective altitude. ACT’s state of the art Altiflo™ altitude control system is the result of two years and millions of dollars in research and development.
True Altitude – This is the only oxygen control device that simulates true altitude. By monitoring barometric pressure and controlling oxygen levels accordingly the ACT Altiflo™ Controller assures accurate partial pressures of oxygen–true altitude simulation.
Fire Safety – The Altiflo™ Controller can integrate with the building’s fire panel to shut off oxygen flows in an emergency. In oxygenating mode, the controller controls oxygen levels according to barometric pressure to meet NFPA 99B standards for fire safe oxygen levels. No other oxygen control system does this.
Oxygen Safety – ACT’s Altiflo™ Controller is programmed to maintain minimum oxygen levels in all spaces at all times in altitude simulation applications as set by ACT’s Medical Board of Advisors.
Functions – The ACT Altiflo™ Controller can operate entirely automatically. Set the desired altitude and the Altiflo™ system handles everything on its own. It corrects for changes in atmospheric pressure, and air quality. The Controller logs data for a complete history of altitude simulation. Twenty-one independently programmed drivers can control vents, dampers, mode selectors and other equipment to control altitude simulation, air quality and fire safety. Its software incorporates NFPA’s fire safety algorithms and the West Equations to calculate altitude accurately in all atmospheric conditions. It can connect with its sensors remotely to allow for independent placement of the control panel and sensors.
Interface – The Altistat™ interface can feature a full color touch screen monitor that is simple and easy to use or simple wall switch. Simply select the desired altitude. The Altistat™ and Controller do the rest including displaying oxygen, and current simulated altitude. It shows real time graphs and trends. Several are available to show as much or little information as you like. The Altiflo™ system can integrate with your building’s automation system, and can be scheduled for targeted altitudes. The Altiflo™ system can be controlled from your smartphone from anywhere in the world using Altistat™ Mobile.
ACT Altiflo™ Control systems incorporate three different sensors, each with critical functions for health and safety.
Oxygen Sensors – ACT utilizes oxygen sensor sets specifically for altitude simulation. Unlike other sensors that last only a year and require monthly calibration with special calibration gases, ACT’s sensors have a 10-year life, and calibrate themselves automatically in ordinary air in about one minute.
Dual Oxygen Sensors – ACT uses two oxygen sensors for safety and accuracy. By comparing readings between sensors, the system can identify erroneous readings or out-of-calibration sensors. ACT is the only company to utilize dual sensors in this way. Without this feature sensor failure or drift can occur with obvious consequences.
Oxygen Sensor Electronics – Using state-of-the-art microprocessor electronics for single range, linear analog output in either a voltage or a current, this sensor provides unmatched stability and reliability even in rapid temperature swings from 0°F to +130°F.
Barometric Pressure Sensor – ACT’s Altiflo™ is the only oxygen control system that measures barometric pressure – a critical step in altitude simulation. In addition, this sensor is essential to calculating fire safe oxygen levels to meet NFPA’s 99B standard in oxygenating applications. ACT’s new pressure transducer is so accurate it detects pressure changes of 1/10th of a millibar.
Inherently Safe – Unlike some air separation systems, ACT’s cannot deliver unsafe levels of oxygen in any application or in any area of the system; either treated rooms or exhaust areas. Even in a power outage or mechanical failure the system will always have safe levels of oxygen.
Quiet and Efficient – With only one moving part ACT’s Altiflo™ Air Unit is the quietest most energy efficient air separation system available.
Performance – ACT Altiflo™ Air Separation will produce 25% greater air flow, give the greatest ventilation and performance with the minimum amount of equipment.
No surge – To avoid power surge our air units activate themselves sequentially, spreading the surge gently over a period of several seconds.
Intelligence – ACT Altiflo™ Air Units can function in four different modes to intelligently respond to conditions and settings in your treated space.
Modular – ACT’s modular system of multiple air units provides redundancy and reliability. If one unit is down, the others pick up the load. The system remains operational at all times and need not be taken offline for maintenance.
Maintenance – ACT’s Altiflo™air units typically run for years before requiring more than a filter change. Because the ACT air unit weighs only 62 pounds / 28 kg, one person can easily manage maintenance or replacement. Compare the 5-year cost of energy and maintenance of ACT’s system to competitive systems. Maintenance costs for ACT systems are usually half of what you would pay to maintain a competing system.
